Pixel Hunter
single-screen platform shooting game
This is a one-week assignment. I designed and developed it alone.
In this game, player controls a pixel hunter who can slow down time. Player needs to use take advantage of this ability to get to treasure.Â
When I designed this game, the first thing is to determine the core gameplay and the player action. Then I can make several combinations based on that and decide what do players need to learn and practice in this game.

Mechanic Design

Enemy Mechanic
I designed five different situations to let players use their skill, each one corresponding to one or two strategies.

Hammer Switch
Player can shoot the switch to turn off the swinging hammer and use it as a bridge. They need to shoot at the right time.

Boss fight
There is a boss guarding the treasure room. The minions around him could also be a huge threat.

Elevator Ambush
There is a big amount of enemies waiting at the elevator. Player needs to kill them in the right order, snipers are more threatening than the normal soldiers.

Machine Gun
Machine gun can shoot consistently and they are invincible. Get out of their range as quickly as possible.

Controlled Machine Gun
Some machine guns could be great help, because they will kill everyone in front of them.
